does revising your item change your listing price?

Basically, I wanted to edit my starting price, if i was to lower it would it mean my insertion fees will come down? even though ive been given a figure already? also say for example someone bids on my item and I change the item description, from good to bad, I can con people like that and that isnt good.

I dont think people should be allowed to revise their items, the example above can be sed by fraudster and cons to change item description etc etc. Or am i wrong? because im new to ebay maybe you cant revise your item after someone has started to bid. Fill me in, im new n curious!

Thanks guys n girls!

    As far as i have noticed if you lower the starting price you don't get any reduction in the costs but when I have lowered prices it has been only by £1 or two so it may lower if drops a bit but not sure.

    I have only ever added to my description once and it does not go into the main body of the text as it adds it further down in a seperate section but I did have 1 bidder on my item and the revision was an update of postage costs

    eBay allow you to revise any part of your item if it has received no bids. I revised my item description recently because I noticed a spelling mistake and that really annoys me and i could do that without any problem. However if my item had received bids and I wanted to revise the item description then it would add whatever I wanted to say at the bottom of the description e.g

    'On 23/04/06 the seller added the following:'
    --><-- Sugar Coated Owl --><--

    If you believe, you will survive - Katie Piper

    Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.

    Oh ok. Thanks for that your a star, always responding quick and thanks again.
  • If someone bids and the seller subsequently changes the description significantly (e.g. if they'd got the size wrong, or if they'd said it was in good condition then noticed it wasn't) the bidder would then be allowed to retract their bid if they wished.
    If you list on a cheap listing day then change your listing at a later date, you would then be charged the full pice for the listing. If you do list on a special offer day then realise at a later date that you've omitted some important information, the best way to deal with it without paying more fees is to have a friend with an ebay account (or yourself if you have a secondary account) ask a relevant question about your listing, and when you reply, tick the box to post the question and answer on your listing.

    k thanks. What about the original listing fees, if i was to lower my starting price say for example £100, would but listing fee go down? or will it be the same as before (without taking £100 off)? ?

    Thanks for your replies, they are extremely helpful.
