    We were advised on a training course a couple of years ago not to use our 'real' names on FB to avoid problems with potential employers. Obviously I then forgot this advice :rolleyes:

    I have only added colleagues from my current workplace and the team who work for me very recently. Most of them don't have access from work, although I did have an entertaining day when I was working from home and had FB open on my home laptop, and pointed out to one of my team that just because I wasn't in the office didn't mean that there wasn't work to do... luckily it was taken in the spirit that it was meant in (they know I don't really care what the do/when they work as long as it gets done), but provided hours of entertainment for her friends... a number of whom were work colleagues who should also have been working at the time... strangely no one asked what I was doing on FB during the working day :confused:

    In this instance, as i'm such a lovely boss :cool: it wasn't an issue, but I can imagine that other people might not be so flexible in their approach. I think most people are now aware of the need to think about how they set their privacy settings, and realise that anything they say might as well be broadcast on the news!

    Obviously this girl wasn't the brightest...

    You could try Passive Aggressive Notes which is where this appears to have been taken from;

    I hope this 'flexibility' never comes back to haunt you: if there isn't a policy about only using the computer for personal stuff during breaks, then how do you sanction a staff member who takes the p? That may either be when the work isn't getting done, or when colleagues are complaining that one person is not doing a fair share. They're going to wail "But everyone does it, and no-one has ever complained before."

  • if this is real then yes, she is a silly cow but her boss was also very unprofessional. He should have waited until the next day and told he to her face. ( he could of easily got a screen shot of the comment ) not swore at her, insulted her and sacked her over the internet!!
