Cheap Holidays

Hi,
What is the best way to book holiday?
We have used two different websites this year. I used Hays Travel for my flights as I couldnt find anybody cheaper and I have also used On The Beach for accommodation.
Is it best to use the same company for both? We have had some issues with On The Beach so tried to cancel but the cancellation cost is just crazy. Any way all sorted now and bags packed but was just wondering for next time if it would have been easier just paying that little extra to get the same hotel with Hays Travel or another and avoided all the nonsense instead of trying to save myself twenty quid??

My personal opinion is that you did correct in booking separately to save yourself some money.
I am sorry to hear about your problems with On The Beach, but I'm afraid that there is always the chance of problems whether you go for the cheaper option or pay full whack. It is just circumstances and luck that dictate!

I always buy flights with the airline direct and use Travelrepublic, Hotels4u, Expedia or Lastminute for accommodation. I got stung by Otbeach.com with flights, (About £40.00 more for luggage charges than Easyjet who flights were with) Would never use them again.0

Most of the smaller Travel Agents make up your holiday flights and then find your accomodation afterwards so if (god forbid) anything happened with your tour operator or airline its NOT covered by ABTA or ATOL as its not a package holiday. So the same rights you have. I hope i am wrong but i am sure someone will correct me.The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0
