My guess is the gel that washes down to 15C is a variant of the Ariel Excel Gel. The packaging of the tabs also looks very close to that for Ariel. I'm not sure if all of it is, and they might be using a different formulation (especially as M&S products are BUAV approved) but my guess is the laundry range is made by one of the big companies so you can't go too far wrong. I've used their biological for colours liquid (old packaging) and it worked fine.

I'm just trying to think what other offers started yesterday:

    Selected wines 3 for £10 (2 red 2 white 1 rose).
Selected wines 2 for £10 (about 10 to choose from)
(10% off any 6 still applies so worth getting the double discount)
Selected bread products on offer at £1
Cookies all 2 for £2.50 (normally £1.50ish to £2 each).
Large crisps (can't remember the exact range I think the handcooked range) 2 for £2
    Selected cooking sauces £1

My memory is rubbish and they aren't on the website yet so I might have got details wrong :) Anyway the monthly offers are generally prepared in store the first Sunday of the month to go live on the Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks OP. I love M&S laundry products, and find them just as good as the big brand names so will be stocking up again.
