I missed July's payment [no statement -know it's my job to keep tabs on it ] I owed £174.09 .They demanded £10.00 over the phone , said i was not willing to do that ,as i had no proof they were . That i would pay the full amount £174.09 next day . Then the bully tactics started , if i did not pay then my credit rating would suffer very badly, my card may be stopped etc. All for £10.00

Set up a minimum payment direct debit. You won't have this problem in the future.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Write a letter with the title "formal complaint" clearly on it and send it by recorded delivery. State that if you are unhappy with the response you will take the matter further.
I think if everyone who receives a phone call like that complains and then report it to the media eventually Barclaycard will get the message.
BTW you are not the first person on this board to receive a odd phone call from Barclaycard.
Edited to say: they can block your card until you pay up but they legally can't put a default on your credit file until you miss 2 payments.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
