First Credit Card HELP!

Hi guys,
im 20 and aware in the future i need a credit rating for certain things such as mortgages etc..
I applied for a Barclaycard INitial which is supposed to be there to help build up a credit rating and got declined. Any other suggestions??
I am on the electoral roll, got a bank account with o/d and visa debit card, never had any charges .

ye i earn over 10k, checked my experian report nothing wrong with it, asked my bank for a credit card they declined me too!0

Then I would start with a sub-prime card (Aqua or Vanquis). Be warned that they have high APRs so pay off in full each month to avoid interest charges.0

Bank with abbey, tried to get the abbey zero, said to me that i did not meet minimum requirements , these being 7.5k income, 18yr or over, resident in the uk, i meet all these0

they done a bureau search if that helps, the search appears on my credit file.0
