Hi
My dad needs to book 4 nights hotel accommodation in Ipanema for the 8th-12 Aug and could do with some pointers as to who to do through this through or whether he should just book direct with a hotel
Also grateful for any reccommendations people may have.
Budget is £125 per night
Oh, and he'd like to book today - no pressure!

You could try https://www.tripadvisor.com first of all to find out which hotels you like the sound of or https://www.lonely planet.com where their writers have reviewed properties. There have been questions about the truth of some of the trip advisor comments but you should still get a fair idea of which ones fit the bill. Once you have picked the hotel you can go onto various sites to compare prices.
Another way would be to use https://www.sidestep.co.uk and they check all the sites and display the prices that the sites are charging for the hotel in question0 -
BTW the Ipanema Plaza is near the Ipanema night life, and is popular with the night owls.
The Best Western Sol Ipanema is on the beach front, the beach is across the road from the hotel http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g303506-d300207-Reviews-Best_Western_Sol_Ipanema_Hotel-Rio_de_Janeiro_State_of_Rio_de_Janeiro.html
Another tip, go up to Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf mountain on the first clear day of the trip, don't wait, it could be cloudy the rest of the trip.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
