Ebay getting fussy again over wording!

Had my listing ended today (withdrawn) by ebay for using words they don't like !!

'Laura Ashley style' its the word 'style' they don't like, I listed the true makers and used the terms 'LA style' just to describe the type of style it was!.

Oh Boy! are they getting fussy these days, I have used these words before and no problem, I had an interested buyer too, so I have got to relist the whole damn thing again... pain.

I think you can put what you like in the description, just not the title.

I have to be honest, if I'm searching for a specific label (mostly STUSSY) I get really really hacked off with the "like" and "similar" and especially "NOT..."

If I wanted to search for something else I would.

And to be fair, Ebay has these policies for a reason.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I'm sorry but i also agree with smartie.

I don't see why you (or anyone else) would need to put **** style personally.

Appreciate their policies but they gave me no chance to edit my item just withdrew it !

Yes I fully understand the searching bit regarding the title and in the past I think I have used the description more for this type of wording, but my error as I put it in the title.

Agree when I search I too get annoyed when all the 'like' stuff comes up, but sometimes new people listing don't specify exactly and often you find a real bargain hiding in amongst all that 'like/similar' stuff !

No, this started way before the whole xbox box/picture saga

It might be that Laura Ashley have complained - most of the big companies have people looking for the use of their name. When the item isn't manufactured by them, they get a bit hacked off. ;)

Really its just a way of describing something isn't it, like 'modern' 'traditional' 'contemporary' for example 'very oriely keily' just means 'retro' !

If someone can't afford the real thing then they are going to go for a 'similar or a like item' that matches their criteria and pocket.

Besides all the wording I used on my item, what I was selling was by far 'way and above the quality of Laura Ashley' .

With Ashley you really are just paying for the name, I am in the interiors trade and I know how much their products really cost and their mark-up is a complete rip off.

It really irritates me when people do this. If I'm looking for a particular manufacturer, wading through similar products is enough to get me reporting people wholesale. It's pretty clear in ebay's T & C's that this is unacceptable (keyword spamming I believe it's called). As for finding a bargain in the like or similar stuff, YOU put in the time to find something like that, I don't see why I should have to when I want something specific.
