Boots Expert Hair Loss Treatment Spray for Women..any users ?

Boots Expert Hair Loss Treatment Spray for Women

Boots.com ( Product code 3881547 )

I have recently seen this product mentioned on another site and was wondering if anyone on here has any experience of it.

As Boots started selling it a couple of years ago I thought there would be quite a few reviews of it, but I've come across very little on the internet.

It sells for £9. 99 per 100 ml and should last for around a month.

Yes, I've read that it's quite stinky, but I'd assumed that would disappear as the hair dried after applying it.

I guess though, if the smell stays in the hair that would limit its sales potential.

I use it, but haven't seen any results so far after about 3 weeks. It was a sure Boots bargain with a freebie voucher. It just smells a bit of coffee, which is one of the ingredients (some kind of extract). Once you've done your hair, and added any other products you can't smell it.

I hope it's not disappointing and doesn't work! My hair has gone much finer over the years and it's a worry! Other products are 2.5x the cost but I guess the old adage of you get what you pay for comes in....

Hells, I think because the way hair grows ..going through "dormant" type phases, it can take a few months for any sign of "thickening" hair.

I'd want to know whats inside of it and the science behind it before I sprayed it on my hair. More chemicals = more dead hair follicles. You may be doing more harm than good.

    hi all

i am about to try this - i read that they say you need to use it for 3-6 months to see the benefit. i'm also going to try the shampoo and conditioner that they sell to use before the spray.

so i can't give any personal experience of it, but i found this discussion on another forum, which includes an article about a lady who was involved in the clinical trials: http://www.hairlosshelp.com/FORUMS/messageview.cfm?catid=10&threadid=72378

the conclusion seems to be that there are no real conclusions yet unfortunately. people are very sceptical of the trials (they claim an increase in the rate of growth, but didn't measure it on individuals beforehand, just compared the group using the spray to the gropu on a placebo, and it says that something like 80% of the women involved said that they felt it worked, but it doesn't tell you waht % of the women using the placebo also said they thought it worked etc etc)

hope it works for us though!

Here's wishing you luck bigsmoke, I hope it improves your hair for you.

I can't decide wether to go for it or not. I was prescribed a drug 8 years ago by my GP (for another condition entirely - nothing to do with hair loss) and it was the stopping of this drug, a few weeks later, that triggered my hair thinning. I went back to the GP who sent me to an endocrinologist at the hospital and she said I should never have been prescribed the original treatment.

Because of this I am hesitant about trying this product in case it provokes even more thinning.

Also reading the various articles and limited personal reviews etc, it's difficult to tell what it actually does, ie a few say that it stopped the shedding of hair (which would be good enough for me), others say it thickens the hair, others that it regrows hair ( a miracle if true ).

Also there appear to be 2 of these Expert Hair Loss Sprays, one sells for £9.99 in Boots, but I've also seen a Boots Advanced Expert Hair Loss Spray selling for £19.99 online, (never seen the more expensive one in Boots).

In my view given the difference in price Boots have done a poor job in publicising the difference between these two, I mean why pay twice for something that could only be marginally different from its cheaper version, on the other hand it could be twice "as strong". There is very little real hard information on these two items.

I hope I haven't dampened your enthusiasm bigsmoke, I'd be really interested in hearing how you and one or two others get on.
