right i have a zyxel router
http://www.amazon.com/NBG-318S-Powerline-HomePlug-802-11g-Wireless/dp/B000VY72PQ
has worked fine for months
however ive recently got an HD TV so was looking to stream 720/1080 media rather than the SD stuff i usually stream (either on xbox1,PS3 or xbox 360 or other PC's)
so today i thought i would try out the set up and different media types.
previously i had tried but got juddery playback

so give it a try with one movie and it plays fine for about 10 minutes then cuts out
look down and the router has powered down
felt a bit hot so i unplugged it for a bit and then powered it up again

all good,so tried with another film and it went fine
however after 30 minutes or so the router did the same.

this is to the PS3 over wifi, havent yet tried the 360 over a wired connection

so whats the deal? surely this streaming isnt too much for the router?

This page may have the answers you are looking for. Mentions Xbox 360 quite a bit but I'm sure a lot will be relevant to your question.
