VW golf seat issue

Right guys, total outside chance here, but, lad has a Golf mk5 gti 3 door just out of waranty. Passenger seat now fails to slide forward after the release allows the back to fold. Anyone had similar?
Tried to register on a VW forum to ask this but things look a bit slow;)

mine did this, just over a year old, i had the seat replaced under warranty, something had bent0
