Having to wear tights to work every day now, I am finding that I only get one wear from them because I always get ladders or holes so it is working out expensive, roll on the winter when I can get the thick tights out, hee hee but in the meantime can anyone suggest ways of getting more than one days wear or tights they find are good, i've done the nail varnish thing.
Thanks

I found that a lot of my tights were going on the heel- solution to soften my heels with cream also check that they're not snagging on certain shoes. My grandmother always used to put tights on with cotton gloves so that she didn't snag them. Would wearing them under smart trousers prolong their lives. I must admit to wearing pop socks under trousers at this time of year. Practical rather than glamourous I'm afraid

Mr T's value tights don't look as good as the glossy ones but do last longer for me and DD
I also find it safer to wash the really fine ones in a net bag0 -
M&S tights still seem to be the best to me. I agree with the wearing of gloves if you have nails (which, for the first time in 30odd years, I actually do - yay). sometimes buying the next size up if you're quite close to the borderline on height or width helps.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
I've read a couple of times that for some bizarre but I'm sure very scientific reason, tights kept in the freezer ladder much less. Can't say I've tried it though but I always wonder when I hear such advice - who discovered this and how?0

yes, that certainly used to be true - used to leave them in the freezer overnight and in the summer they were lovely & cool to put on; in the winter a quick rub with a towel helped if you had to use them in a hurry;)
but I thought tights these days were run-proof and contained more lycra than nylon?0 -
file your heels!
wear popsocks under trousers then if one gets worn through you still have the other
go to primark in a sale and get fancy tights for 50p!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I tend to ladder mine through putting them on in a hurry and yanking them up. I agree with the gloves as although I don't have nails I have rough hands dry skin. Take the time to pull them up strtching from th ebottom a bit at a time seems to help. Luckily I can wear trousers to work and do.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
