Any advice for travelling to Emirates Stadium
I am going the the Emirates stadium with my wife on Sunday to see the Emirates Cup. I am just wondering what is the best way to get there.
Nearest station is Kettering (well technically it's now Corby but trains seem to run more frequently from Kettering) and a 1 day travelcard costs £36.50 each.
That seems a bit expensive so I want to drive. My plan is to drive to Watford tube station (73 miles) and park. Apparently it's only £1 to park there on a Sunday but it's not clear whether that's £1 per day or per hour.
A travelcard for Watford Undergound Station to Arsenal costs £5.60 each as it is zone 7-2.
Does this seem like a good idea? Watford Underground Station only has 70 spaces so I hope it doesn't fill up. I don't think you can reserve a space in advance. Have I got the right price for the travelcard? There seem to be lots of different prices all over the place.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

If I were driving from Kettering I would head down M1 and leave at Junc 4 for Stanmore Underground Station... less than 2 miles from M1. In zone 5.
Plenty on on street parking at Stanmore... especially on a Sunday.
Jubilee Line train to Finchley Road and a cross platform change to Met Line.0 -
Did you know that NASA train a lot of their astronauts at the Emirates Stadium0

Nasa train the astronauts there as the conditions are very similar to the moon eg no atmosphere...0

Well maybe. But the obvious route goes through zone 1 so you'd need to include that as well. Doing it without entering zone 1 looks tortuous.
I didn't realise that was how it worked.
So if I buy a travelcard for zones 2-7, I can't even go through zone 1 even if I am not getting off?0 -

I am going on Sunday also.
I live in the Huntingdon area.
Best thing to do is drive to huntingdon (its only 20 miles from Kettering)and get the train to Finsbury park from there. (£19 return).
The walk from Finsbury Park to the Emirates is 10 minutes tops (and remember to stop in the Ashburton Grove for some pre-game beer!0 -
Where would you suggest for afterwards. We are thinking of having a pub meal whilst waiting for the crowds to die down.
We dont mind walking up to 1 mile away approx.
Any ideas
ThanksACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0
