Advice Wanted - Regarding Closing Down Company

Excuse me if this is in the wrong forum but i couldnt find where was best to post my enquiry..

a couple of years ago i registered a company (partnership) on behalf of myself and a work collegue, but in the end we decided not to start trading as the we both decided it wasnt a good time with the country going down the pan so to speak..

I have forked out quite a bit of cash, registerring the business and everything, so i now wish to end the nightmare..

does anyone know how i can do this from the standpoint of a business that hadnt started trading, with the least hassle and costs etc..

and how much is it likely to cost me?

Thanks For Any Help , Paul

Do you mean a Limited company (registered with Companies House ?). If so, you need to apply to them to have it dissolved.

Does the company have any assets? If you contact Companies House and you have failed to submit accounts to them which you have to do if you are a limited company then they can remove you from their listing.

You may have to involve lawyers - its a limited company and therefore there are more things to consider than if you were a sole trader.

Anyway the best time to start a business is during a recession because if you can survive a recession you can survive anything.
