Wonder if anyone can help
looking for travel insurance for two children traveling to america to see thier dad.
one child is currently under medical investigation adn we do not yet have a diagnosis of any kind- he has been reffered to a consultant.
Not quite sure what we need to declare for travel insurance or if we can even get any as they dont seem to cover those under investation

The airline may not accept them if they are under investigation.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

You would need to speak to insurers/their medical screening agencies to discuss your child's condition with them. Do you have no idea at all what could be the matter (sorry, I am not trying to be nosy, just seeing if you can limit to one area of health, ie: is he referred to a gastroenterologist or something?)
You may struggle to get cover at this stage if you have absolutely no idea what is wrong as insurers will not be able to ascertain what kind of risk he poses.0 -
You will struggle to find an Insurer to offer cover for an undiagnosed medical condition0

I took out annual insurance through Boots last month and I was waiting to see a consultant at the time. I phoned them up and disclosed that I was under investigation and they asked for brief details of my symptoms. I was told that until I had received a diagnosis anything related to the as yet undiagnosed condition would not be covered and, because I took annual cover, I should notify them when I had a diagnosis.
I also notified them that I had been treated for skin cancer (they asked which type) and as soon as I told them I had been treated and signed off as having the 'all-clear' they were happy to cover that.
I'd suggest you simply pick an insurer (I can recommend Boots, used them a few times), phone them up and explain the situation. If they're not keen to provide cover maybe you could phone a group representing those suffering from Asperger's to see if they could give you any advice. It would be a shame for your kids to miss out such a great trip.Norn Iron Club Member 3300
