What new features do you like in Windows 7?

Though I'd ask to see if there are any good ones I'd missed.

There are a couple I like from the RC:
  • You can re-size a window to the left, right, top or bottom of the screen just by dragging the title bar.
  • When you bring up the Tack Manager and sort by CPU, the first click softs it in descending order (it used to take 2 clicks in XP & Vista). It's a tiny change, but it saves me 1 click each time :)

Several windows open you shake the title bar to close the others.
Hover over the lower right corner to show the desktop.

I saw the feature too but I can't figure out when you would need to use it. Unless you wanted to show someone your wallpaper, or look at your gadgets.

It's handy if you want to look for a file on your desktop and you don't want to close, move or minimise all your open Windows one by one. Windows users seem to store the entire contents of their computer on the desktop, so it makes sense.

I like how if a Window has a progress bar, the background of its icon in the taskbar also turns into a progress bar.
  • you can bring your desktop up at anytime by pressing the windows key on your keyboard and the "D" key. Always been there since i remember

I like the utility that allows you to copy just a part of the screen - rather than taking a screenshot and trying to crop it in MS Paint.

Can't remember what it's called... "snip-it" or something, maybe...?

Hi there, its called 'Snipping Tool' and like you say its quite handy!

I like the fact that if you press & hold the windows key, you can then use the arrow keys to move the currently selected window around the screen, useful if you have two windows explorer windows as you can get them exactly half the screen width and put one beside the other.

    Other that that I reckon:-
    > its slightly more responsive than Vista
    > the new quick launch area seems to work ok with grouping together similar icons
    > theres a better theme selection than vista

There's lots of other decent things to be said about it, others must think its good too as pre-order figures look to be very high, £49.99 for the equivalent of Home premium or £99.99 for the Pro edition, think I might be tempted!
    Useful is beautiful

Snipping tool is a vista util =/

I like the window previews on the taskbar, and right clicking for the frequent files etc.

Getting used to the ribbon interface too, the intergrated xp vm is nice too.

Oh and the touchscreen features are nicer too.

You can do this in other flavours of windows by having one explorer window open already, hold 'ctrl' and click on other on taskbar, then right-click and 'show window's side-by-side'
