  • Argos doesn't do paper-note-style vouchers any more (except when posted by Argos Direct), in store it's just the just the cards that are like paper credit cards with a magnetic strip on the back.

to confuse matters even more, can someone try help me please? I'm looking at buying approx £175 worth of stuff, this can be broken down into £100 £50 transactions.

To start with i already have about £130 worth of Capital Bonds vouchers, and an Argos Gift card with £4.01 on it.

Am i able to buy £100 / £50 worth of vouchers in tis promo using my capital bonds vouchers? Their T&C's aren't too clear on this...

Assuming i can, of course then i'll use the vouchers to buy my goods & get more vouchers :D

    all help definitely appreciated :)

I bought £100 Argos vouchers with £100 capital bonds yesterday and DID receive the £10 gift card.

At the same time I also purchased a TV for £150 and got another £10 gift card. I know i should have bought vouchers for this but didnt. What I am unsure about is if you buy an item for £100 and pay with vouchers do you get the £10 gift card? If so this means you would get double discount by buying vouchers then buying the item. As far as I can see the terms only forbids buying vouchers with vouchers (for obvious reasons) and doesnt state about buying products with vouchers.

After reading through previous posts I'd like to clarify something. I'm looking to spend £50ish in argos in the next few days, if i purchase argos gift vouchers with cash i'll get my £5 free voucher. I then go and purchase my goods with the vouchers then i get another £5 voucher. Hence £10 voucher with £50 spend - have I got this right???
    Thanks in advance

Worked for me fine yesterday. Brought a £50 gift card and got £5 free, handed them straight back to the till guy and brought my stuff, didn't queue up a second time or anything. Then got another £5 free, wasn't expecting it and didn't ask for it, the till guy seemed to know what he was doing.;)

In my store, we have been told by Head Office today NOT to give out free gift cards on purchases of gift cards.

Well I got them fine and the woman on the till didn't even know if she could or not!

The promotion is decided by the till rather than the store I think!

P.S. I only remembered about buying the gift vouchers before purchasing my product right at the front of the payment queue today! Then I got home and realized the last time they did the offer (When I got the PS2 offer) I totally forgot to do it! :(

I'd agree with that! The till gives instructions on whether a Gift card is due or not. Plus there is nothing in the T&Cs to say that you can't so I'm absolutely sure that individual Argos stores can't override what comes from Head Office.

Stores can override issueing a gift card by simply pressing cancel at the end of the transaction. Stores can also manually issue gift cards if needs be.
