Can anyone recommend where to stay in Alcudia? I'm planning holiday for the other half and 14 year old daughter, late May next year. Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with Alcudia, although I would agree the port end is nicer. We stay at the Palm Garden apartments, we used to use Sea Club but it has got very expensive. Depends what sort of board you want.0

Having visited Santa Ponsa and Alcudia, we prefer Alcudia. I think where you stay can make a big difference.
The old town, beach and the port area are really nice and there are nice areas around the lakes.
We have stayed at the Sunwing Alcudia on the beachfront, a ten minute walk from the port and thought it was lovely. There was also a good mix of nationalities including Swedish who we found friendly.
Other family members have stayed in the Lagomontee Hotel which they really enjoyed. This hotel is situated more in the new town area and slightly away from both the beach and the port. It has more British guests and has plenty going on all the time, but is nicely situated with a lake in front and mountains at the back of it. They use to do all inclusive which included a free land train to the beach.
If you like walking there is also some lovely walks and plenty of places are easily visited from here e.g Porto Pollensa and Cap San Vincente.
Hope this helps.0 -
