Mis-Sold Loan reclaim?

Hello, I had a phonecall recently from a company saying that I could make a claim on any mis-sold loans taken out within the last 6 years, even if they had been completely paid off.

They also referred to a recent Panorama programme about this. I said I'd think about it, as any claims handled through a third party will probably involve paying a commission to them-better to write to the bank directly if I'm entitled to claim.

Does anyone know whether it's possible to claim for a mis-sold loan-for example taken out during a period of unemployment?

Are you saying your loan was taken out during unemployment?
If so, what was stated on the income and employment section? Bear in mind that you would have signed it thus being party to the fraud.

    Hi there

I have received lots of calls.

But I do not bother with them, and have had to tell them to stop calling, despite that they still continue to ring, have also received lots of those automated recorded messages as well.
Best to be careful with these companies, but I'm sure you will have some answers on here by the ones who have knowledge of this.;)

However if you want to reclaim on a mis sold payment protection insurance (PPI) even if this is settled and of course if mis sold for any reason, you can do all this free on this site, with help from others and with free templates for just a cost of a few stamps.;)

  • Why do people lose common sense when a complete stranger out of the blue cold calls them at home with such a claim??

Hi, thanks for reply. Yes, I was unemployed at the time, and I TOLD my bank that. I was advised that I was eligible for a loan based on credit scoring, even though I was out of work. The loan was arranged over the phone & I was given a reference number. On giving this refence number to my branch, they then printed off the application form & the funds were transferred to my account.

Hi, yes I know about PPI, but on this occasion I didn't take it out.

Hi Simon, great to have a knight in shining armour coming to my rescue!

Anyway, back to the issue-surely asking folks on here whether they know anything about this, rather than just doing what the caller says is pretty sensible? If I didn't have any common sense, I'd just go ahead & signed up to whatever the company wanted...
  • Sorry but you might not like this. If you had any common sense then you would not be on here asking this question. A person with common sense would use the search facility on here or Google the claim from the cold caller. Common sense in anycase would ignore these people ringing up out of the blue.

I just thought I'd ask someone if you really can claim back for a mis-sold loan. For example, you might have been able to get compensation for someone persuading you to take out a loan you can't afford without making the proper checks.

This is not as silly as it sounds-after all, who would have thought you'd ever be able to claim back premiums paid into a PPI policy, plus interest? And yet you can!

As regards cold calls, I get loads of them like everyone else (despite registering on TPS), but I don't just cut everyone off without first listening to what they have to say. In this case, I thought I'd ask the supposed experts on this forum if there's any truth to this. I didn't catch the name of the company, so I couldn't google it.

Don't worry they won't give up after one call - I just put the receiver down and get on my life as soon as they tell me where they are from.
Do you know when I go back to phone a few minutes later they have hung up on me - how rude is that??
    LOL
