I had disappointments last year with Next, Adams and Ladybird - all either shrank or went mishaped after the first wash or two, even though in the past I would have always recommended them.
I've heard good things about M&S, but reading their current reviews, it appears they are skimping on quality too these days.
Can anyone suggest a good place to go? I need boys in size 6-7/7-8 and 9-10/10-11.

Have you tried Sainsburys? I have found the TU schoolwear range very good.
I bought Asda's one's for the first time last year and was so disapointed (shrank on the first wash!).
I have comtemplated buying M and S this year, but for the price i think i will stick with Sainsburys.
Another place i found ok for uniform was Matalan, but personally i prefer the quality of the Sainsburys ones.
HTH.

Hi,
I like BHS for school uniform
I've bought Blazers, Trousers & Shirts and found them to be good quality.0 -
Thank you both
Haven't tried Sainsburys for clothes at all - never seem to go into a store with the clothes range in - I'll have to track one down and take a look.
Not too sure about BHS - got eldest a pair of school trousers from there last year as they were the only place to have stock in the right colour at the time - had to size up 2 sizes to get the same fit as his other (Adams) ones, they were nice and roomy, and they still split after a weeks wear.
Maybe the polos are better - again, I'll take a look first chance I get.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
I bought plain yellow polo shirts from Gap last year and they still look good now. They were doing them in a variety of colours
I'm not sure if they are doing them this year though0 -

When our daughter was in junior school we always got Asda ones and they were great never went out shape or shrunk (a friends daughter is now wearing them) however, when it comes to school shirts to wear with a tie I have tried loads in the last 6 months and nothing beats M & S.0

I've just bought a pack of 2 white polo shirts tonight in Asda for 50p!! They had a pack of about 5 white polo shirts for £1. Worth a try at that price. . . .0

Sainsburys are doing 3 for 2 on school uniform aswell at the minute. I buy my sons polo shirts and trousers from them and they are very good quality for a reasonable price.
I've tried M&S before too I think there is very little difference in the quality between Sainsburys and Marks but Sainsburys is just a bit cheaper.Nothing to report:p0 -
i havent tried the polo type shirts, i avoid them cos they do always go stiff, grey and out of shape.
But for all the other stuff i finally switched to M&S about two years ago and have found them excellent for jumpers skirts trousers etc
Had previously tried adams, asda etc and they just dont compare to M&S
But i have always liked the cotton shirts. they are not actaully as hard as they look to iron (espec if you stick them in the dryer) and they just last longer and come up clean and keep shape
A big thanks to all the comp posters for their effort0
