Life assurance

Hello
I am a bit useless when it comes to life assurance. I am only really thinking about it because a friend mentioned it in passing at the weekend. Perhaps someone could let me know what they would do/think.
Our current situation is -
There is me (26), DH (26) and our DS (2 yrs). We now live in a housing association rented house. I have a medical condition but my DH works full time. We do have debts
I'm trying very hard to pay off our debts but what would happen if i wasn't here? DH would not be able to cope
Should I have life assurance? I'm thinking probably yes even if to just cover debts. I have read some where on here that to get a quote you have to pay a fee to a broker? Is this correct? What level of cover is the "norm"?
Any advice is much appreciated.

What's your medical condition?0

If you contribute income that's needed then yes you shouldhave life cover.
Also what about child care?
Do you need to provide enough to pay for that?
Your medical condition might affect you application though hence the question about what it is.0 -
Without boring MSE with the details - i have a lung disease.
I hadn't even considered child care. Oops. I think I better try and get some quotes.
Thank you.DFW Nerd #11520
