Wonder if someone can help me please. I was made bankrupt in March 2008, receiving an early discharge in November the same year (thanks so very much to this board for help and so much advice) Anyway, I think I remember reading somewhere at that time that as a bankrupt you are not allowed to travel to America. Is this the case when you have been dischareged as well? Not that that is the place that I hope to travel to but that is where my present worries come from.
I am possibly (hopefully!!) going to visit family in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within the next 10 months and I am wondering if my bankruptcy will be an issue?? I know that getting a Visa for the Kindom is a very long and sometimes difficult process and I am wondering if my situation will cause even bigger problems? The family that I will be staying with do not know about my bankruptcy and I had hoped that they would not find out.
Any advice very welcome, thank you.

Hi - I have travelled to America since my discharge no problems, it wa sonly for a holiday tho, not wanting to stay and work or stay there for an extended period so I dont know if it is different in those cases, I did have to fill in an ESTA which is standard now to travel to America. Hope that helps.0

Yes, thanks, it does help very much. Makes me feel quite relieved! I am only planning a holiday to Saudi Arabia too.

Hi Princess - what is an ESTA - does it ask about BR? I shall be travelling to US end of next year - and yes, have found that I can actually save every penny for the holiday - and I hadn't even thought about BR being a problem.Bankrupt 11th June 2008

There are no restrictions for travel to USA for either undischarged or discharged bankrupts, that is a myth.
ESTA is the new online for that replaces the green VWP form you used to fill in on the plane, it doesn't ask about bankruptcy.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Another Urban Myth bites the dust. If you are BR or discharged, you can travel anywhere. We are not criminals.0
