Thorpe Park help

Hi, we are heading for Thorpe Park in a couple of days (first time) and wonder if anyone can give any advice on cutting down on queuing.. Have been to A Towers so know rough concept of a theme park. Does it has fastrack passes? Son is 12 so only interested in the fast rides now. Thankyou.

I think they might have done away with free fast track, you pay extra on your ticket for fast track on a selection of rides (optional)

TBH its not worth it, never really encountered much of a queue at Thorpe

You obviously haven't been there when it is busiest. The queues can be horrendous.

The only solution is to get there well before the park opens and get on as many rides as you can before it gets too busy. The fasttrack is worth it if you really don't want to queue later in the afternoon.

I would be really interested if you could post back here after you have been. I am sorry to say that having been to Thorpe Park in the last couple of weeks and had a colleague go afterwards, they appear to be having problems with a lot of their rides, a good number of which were closed on both days, including Stealth, their newest ride. Of course, the more rides they have closed, the longer the queues as well.

We have season tickets so cost wise it was not an issue but we had gone for a birthday which was spoilt by the lack of rides that were open.

There were a lot of rides closed for most of the season last year, Detonator was closed all year, Tidal Wave was having problems, Rush was only operating one arm. It doesn't actually suprise me that Stealth is having problems, always the same with new rides, they are still having teething problems with Slammer!

I haven't really been when it has been VERY busy, tend to avoid the busiest times as I don't do crowds very well

We avoid the crowded times too now. We have annual passes and sometimes just go in to go to the farm or have a wander after getting on the rides early. Once the crowds really build up we leave as even just walking through the park can be daunting, never mind the length of the queues.

Detonator most certainly wasn't closed all year!

If you avoid Easter holidays, Hallowene, half term weeks and the last half of the school summer holidays you should never encounter big queues. You might expect summer holidays to be busy throughout, but the first part is quiet as a lot of kids have just been on school trips, and a lot of people go abroad then too. Also avoid weekdays just before the summer holidays - the park will be full of badly behaved school trips. A queue line full of unsupervised kids who all know each other can be hell!
