'Best Offer' help, please

Hi

I'm looking for a little help with the etiquette around accepting 'best offers'.

I listed an item 'buy-it-now' and for the first time I added a 'best offer' option. I received an offer that was a bit below what I was prepared to accept so I made a counter offer to the person (who I'll refer to as Buyer 1). A few hours later, another buyer (Buyer 2) has offered the exact amount of the counter offer I made to Buyer 1.

I'm inclined to accept Buyer 2's offer but it is ok to do so now? Or is it polite to wait for Buyer 1 to get back to me first to decline/accept the counter offer I made them?

Thanks.

Just accept the new offer. Tough on the first buyer for not being competitive enough!

Thanks. That's what I thought but just wanted to make sure that I wasn't being harsh or breaching some sort of unwritten etiquette.

You are fine, once you sell the item the other offers automatically expire.

As others say, accept Buyer 2's offer.

    (a) Buyer 1 may not ever accept your counter offer
    (b) Buyer 1 should have responded quicker to your counter offer if they want it at the revised price (or offered more in the first instance)

Don't worry about ending up with 2 winning buyers - that can't happen. Whichever offer gets accepted first will cancel all other offers.

Or, if buyer two's offer is still a little less than what you want...counter offer them too
