Hi can someone tell a newbie to itunes how to move single tracks to an album?
My music is stored on an external HD in folders with album art work, when i played the music with itunes and added it to the library it has added each track of a compilation album separately, can't find how to move them. It has also done this to other albums, spit them into 2 or 3 albums.
I am not too techie could someone please give me instructions.

I installed itunes where it suggested on C drive should I have installed it on The external HD?
I have just gone into itunes and the albums I have played have disappeared ?

IDEALLY I would like to be able to plug the ext HD into anyones laptop or pc and play music. Have I done it wrong?

Name Dropper First Post Photogenic Second Anniversary
Check first that the album's tracks are all named the same - ie Dark Side of the Moon is different from Dark Side ofthe Moon etc.
Somewhere inside preferences there is a tickbox for 'Group Compilations together'. If you tick this you'll get what I think you want. IE 1 track from Dark Side of the Moon will be listed under the compilation you got it with, rather than the album it's from.
If you want to plug it into any computer, you need to tell that computer's iTunes that the library is on the ext HD - this may be more hassle than it's worth though.
