back to work financial help

Hi, been signing on for a couple of weeks. been offered a job starting next week and was wondering if i can claim for help to travel etc as i have to work a month in advance??? also i have to supply my own tools and safety boots, can i make a claim for help with these???

Any advice??

    As far as I am aware you can only get help if you've been claiming an income based benefit for 6 + months

    I don't think it's the case that you need to have been claiming income based for 6 months or more. You may well be entitled to claim for your first month's travel costs and for tools and such like.

    I would ask at your local office. And do it soon, as you don't have long.
