Potential Legal Battle Over New Car- Advice Please

Hi,

I have recently purchased a used VW Golf from a recognized car dealership in Surrey. Before i purchased the car it was agreed that the faulty authentic VW radio system inside the car would be replaced by the vendor.

The vendor believes he has fulfilled this obligation, but has in fact replaced it with a much cheaper, non authentic VW radio system that doesn't really work.

As you can guess, i'm not really happy with the outcome as i feel i have been fobbed off.

Do i have any legal standpoint? They claim the fact that the new radio doesnt really work is not a major fault on the vehicle and as such they are not liable. My viewpoint is that we entered into a contract that implied that the faulty original VW radio would be replaced by one of full working order and of similar if not more financial value.

I know it may sound pedantic, but everybody loves there music in the car- especially one which you have just shipped over 10k for.

Thanks in advance
