Being paid less than agreed

My husband worked for an agency for a few days and a hourly rate was agreed before he worked. When he was paid it was apparent they had paid £1 an hour less than agreed. I have been on the phone to them constantly for about 4 weeks and they keep saying they will pay the extra but keep failing to do so. Can i do anything about this?
thanks

He should have written confirmation of assignment when he started? We sent out a letter with the first payslip unless people wanted to pick it up before that.
Have they said it's an error, or have they said they will look in to it?"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -
He has no written confirmation of rate, they just said rate over phone. The first time he called they said they'd sort it out and acknowledged he was underpaid. When the money didnt go in the following week he called and to start with they tried to say they had paid him correct originally. Since then I spoke to the manager at the agency and he has acknowledged several times they have paid wrong rate and keeps saying they will sort it out but still dont have money.0

Are they a National Agency, or Local and are they REC Members?"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0

think they have branches over scotland. Not sure about REC memberes, what does this mean?0

If they are a national then write to the Manager, Head of Payroll and call up Head Office and find out who you complain to there in writing.
The REC is the Recruitment Employment Conferation - if they are a member there will be a logo/statement on their website as it is a trade membership. You can report your problem to the REC, inform them that you are being paid incorrectly, repeatedly fobbed of after 4 weeks and never received a written statement of assignment. This is against their code of practise, and could prompt an audit and ultimately have their membership revoked publically. Not good for business. Of course you can only threaten to report them to REC if they are members."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of."
