Bank charges building up

I have 2 Natwest accounts, both with overdrafts. I only use one of the accounts and on the other I keep getting bank charges, which I am unable to pay back. Its about £200 and counting but is there any way I can claim these back? No money goes in or comes out of this account. Would I have to make a claim for my other account? I could use the fact I owe £350 rent and about £900 for gas bill. Would that help?

I'd move the account you use to another bank. If you have a credit balance on there you may risk the bank offsetting the overdrawn account.
Yes you can start your claims on both accounts for all charges since July 2001, if you write a letter explaining your circumstances and use Martins template as basic guidance, sent an IE sheet and copies of arrears letters you might have a chance of getting something back - it won't be easy but is worth a go.
Also tell the bank that the overdrawn account is in dispute (as your charges are more than the overdraft) and make a payment arrangement of a small affordable amount as a gesture of goodwill for the moment to repay the overdraft, if you can. (hopefully staving off any defaults or credit record markers).LegalBeagles0
