Hey
I really hope someone can advise me more.
I have recently been given notice from work that they would be letting me go. they put this into writing and said I have to work my 7 days notice period. however my contracted hours are 38.75 and for my notice period they only gave me 21 hours to work and only paid me for 21 hours. just wondering if anyone has come across this before and if i have a case with them to get the rest of my wage owing.
My contracted hours where 38.75 up until the week i was given my notice where i was told for 1 week my hours will change down to 20.5 (i was given less than 24 hours notice)
please can anyone help.
thanks
vicki

That doesn't sound right.
Does your contract say variable hours?
How long have you been working there?
ACAS on Monday should be able to advise you, but looking around their website may give you the words you need for a letter saying that they should pay you your full hours.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Breach of contract terms, they have failed to adhere to your contractual hours within the required statutory notice period of 7 days assuming your job is not a variable shift pattern and you work same hours every week.
If they are amending this from choice to suit themselves then you can argue it is a compulsory redundancy for which they would have to pay you the statutory payment of 1 weeks pay for each completed years service.0
