Ebayers requesting buy-it-now on an auction?

I often get potential buyers requesting buy-it-now on my auctions. Does it mean I have to edit the auction to add a buy-it-now at a pre-agreed sale price? Also doesn't this cost more?
What's the best thing to do in these situations? So far I have always refused and left it to auction but I have been receiving some tempting offers lately.

It will costyou an extra 40p to add a BIN and there's no guarantee the person will buy it if you do. What I have done in the past is ask them to place a bid then you can end the auction to the highest bidder and send them a revised invoice. On the invoice page you can add the difference to make up the agreed price.0

people who ask for BIN are normally trying to get the item cheaper than it will go for auction. I normally reject all offers and say that I would like it to go to auction0

Generally, the reason people make offers or ask for a BIN is because they think they can buy your item for less than it will eventually make at auction, there may be a genuine reason why they absolutely must have it now, but more often then not they're chancers who think if an item has a low start and no reserve then the seller doesn't know what it's worth and will let it go for a song.
You can add a BIN to your listings but only if there are no bids or the reserve has not been met. another way is to say yes, i'll accept £** for the item, and if they agree, tell them you'll end the listing once you receive the money via pay pal, that way, what you might lose in a slightly lower end price you gain in not having to pay ebay fees.0 -
...or, they could need it earlier than the end of the auction - I have had that a couple of times - for childrens birthday presents. I set a reasonable buy it now price and it all went smoothly. Good communication from both sides helps - and a polite buyer!!0

If someone makes me an offer that is above what I expected to make at auction I will insist that it's done as an off ebay, paypal transaction.
If it's below what I would expect to make I suggest to them that I will consider all serious offers if they'd like to make one.Terms & Conditions Apply0 -

Tut tut... avoiding ebay fees. Also this surely offers no protection for the buyer. Personally if I was desperate for an item I would not do it this way.0 -
