Suzy - if you put down your current job then why would this be an issue? Surely that is correct?

If they do want the money back my advice would be to call them up, tell them you want to pay the money back, but it will need to be over a number of months. See what they offer you - you could argue your application should have been fully checked and approved before any money was sent. There may be blame on both sides so a compromise of payments over a few months might work.

    Good luck

    hey thanks for the advice
i am looking for more work im not just sitting around,
they phoned me and said we want the money back or face fraud investigation and the police.
its been two weeks since i was given the loan and i have done pretty good paying back 3k, they havent contacted me atall so they can see im trying my hardest to pay the money back.
as for my job now... im a lap dancer... cash in hand... all my boss can do is write me a letter saying i have worked there.. basically a reference thats it.. i dont have tax payments ..
as for the application i put i work at my old job what i have just left.... it was a genuine mistake!
im annoyed citezen advice are always engaged! i want some one to sit me down and talk to me about this? any ideas who else could help?
i dont know if i should explain the situation to my bank

If the phones are engage then visit their website and find your local bureau by putting in your postcode and you can actually visit them

    Just one point of caution.
If you are not declaring your earnings for tax etc, I would be a little wary of approacing too many agencies. You and your boss could find yourself in deep water with HMRC.

i think you still have to ring up tho... i phoned this morning managed to get through next appointment next friday... ;(
she also gave me two advice numbers i can call there engaged too... its been like it all week!

i dont really know what the deal is at work... i take cash in hand and at the end of the night i pay house fee's.... thats the least of my worries at the moment... im not going to approach any more loan companies... its not worth getting in more debt trying to sort this debt out

Only two things guaranteed in life, Death and Taxes.

You can't take cash in hand and never pay the taxman (assuming you take more than a few grand a year).

As far as the authorities are concerned, you have zero income and no employment. You can see why it is a faudulent claim.

Top marks for your work though, hope you find a way out of the loan mess. :)

Suzy - the other posters are correct - you do need to address the tax issue, but that is a seperate issue and not part of this issue.

I'm not one for condoning misleading finance companies but if it was a genuine mistake could you not tell them you left your old job unexpectedly in the middle of your application and did not realise the issue? The important thing is that you show you are willing to pay it back.

At the end of the day you have paid back over 50% of the loan which I think proves you are acting in good faith.

I think trying to pay it back is everything. Make sure you are communicating with them and you make some type of payment plan. Putting you in jail assures them they get nothing in the end.
