Mobile Phones in Jersey

Hi

I am self employed and am planning to spend the 1st 3 weeks of August in Jersey on holiday. I will need to work a little bit and in the past when in Jersey have been diverted to either a French network or Jersey Telecom, and been hit with high roaming costs on return.

What is the cheapest way of receiving and making calls on my O2 Mobile, any suggestions on how I can keep costs down.

Thanks

Take a spare unlocked phone as well as your normal one and get a local SIM card.

Forward all your incoming O2 calls to the local SIM, using your contract's inclusive minutes.

You can use your inclusive O2 text messages free, at the rate of 4 for 1 from your bundle. If you're likely to go over, investigate mobile Java programs such as Fishtext.

As well as JT, there are Sure and Airtel-Vodafone; the latter has a tariff option with 10p calls to all of Europe, 5p local in Jersey
