Sunhats, caps, woolly hats in winter, wedding hats, day at the races etc etc .

Do you like wearing hats?

I have NEVER worn a hat as an adult , EVER!

Even in the winter, I just about manage a coat with a hood. I think I've got quite a big head so they don't always fit, I feel uncomfortable, self consciously stupid-looking , hot and sticky.
And the effect the hat is having on my hairstyle is a major concern!

So ladies, do you like hats or not? Any hat-wearing disasters? Do you hat-hire for special occasions?

Devoted hat wearers, any tips to convert the rest of us and save us from expensive hat-buying mistakes?

I love hats, nothing like them for 'bad hair days' and of course in 'winter'. I have loads of them from fluffy bright colours to the traditional black. Go on be brave and wear one.

I really don't have a head for hats... They don't suit me at all... I also can't stand the feel of woolly hats against my hair in winter...

I do wear bandana type things though, the ones that are like really wide headbands... Great for covering bad hair!

I adore hats, especially in winter, and have a huge collection. I also love my tweed trilby, it goes with everything. It's a really good quality hat, I got it for £6 in a vintage shop.

Another hat fan here! Love 'em.
I've got a selection of brightly coloured crochet slouchy beenies, vintage Kangol berets, Baker-boy caps and a vintage purple felt trilby for the winter and a couple of straw trilby hats(one vintage in a natural straw colour and the other is black) and a cowboy stetson in silver for the summer.
I also love headscarves! They're great for hiding unwashed locks and roots!

Hats are one of my favorite things to wear despite the fact that I have a huge head:rotfl:winter or summer doesn't bother me just love em, I also love headscarves, washing my hair is a bit of a performance so hats and scarves hide a multitude:)

I love fancy hats and fascinators, but I don't feel the cold so never wear a hat in winter!

I love hats, have two fedoras (one striped one black) a baker boy hat and two soldier style caps.

Hats are great, a really cheap way of updating a look (Especially at Primark where I got the fedoras), and keep the sun and rain out of your eyes.

Plus who doesn't want to look a little mysterious? A hat will do that.

How do you get round the "huge head" problem? I love hats but 99% of the ones I find on the high street don't even go on in the first place, never mind comfortably. I want a big girly straw sunhat but all I can get to fit me are gents' cricket hats :(
