A present for teacher (with a difference)

My daughter will be leaving junior school this year so I have to get a really nice present for one of the teachers.

This teacher, she taught me when I was little (at a different school), she taught my son a few years ago and she teaches my daughter maths now, until the end of term.

I want to buy something really nice for her.

So far I've come up with, a piece of jewellery (silver bangle/white gold earrings), or Chanel perfume (she is SO worth it so the cost doesn't bother me)

Do you think she may like something she can keep (jewellery), or something she can use (perfume)??

Or does anyone else have anymore ideas??

I really want something nice as she is fantastic and I'll be sad when none of us will see her again (but fingers crossed she will still be teaching when my 7 week old baby goes to school lol!)

I'd go for the jewelry. Good teachers are worth their weight in (white) gold.

I'd just buy a nice bunch of flowers, jewellery is personnel and can be a bit hit and miss.

It's something personal I want to get her! I've known her for 27 years years so she's worth more than a bunch of flowers which will die within a few days.

shellsuit, it's so nice that you are thinking of getting a nice gift for the teacher.

Do you know that she wears Chanel perfume? If so, I'd go with that as it is always useful. If you don't know that she actually wears that, I'd say it could be a bit hit and miss.

If you want to go down the perfume route, I'm sure the Perfume Store or Boots do a variety pack thing with a voucher inside, so that they can try the little ones and then use the voucher to buy a full bottle.

I'd say jewellery is also a bit of a minefield, as certain people have jewellery that they wear constantly. I wear very little jewellery, so if someone bought me, say, a bangle, it would probably never be worn, no matter how beautiful.

    Good luck !

oh also, I was at a little market stall the other day and they had so many fantastic gifts for teachers - from a company called 'East of India'. I think if you google them a few gift shops come up to purchase from. Here's a link to one...

If you have known her for 27 years then you don't have to ask for advice on here as any ideas should just come to you naturally.

We got DS2's english teacher a personalised bookmark when DS2 left primary school. This guy was really into books as was my son (and still is). It didn't cost much (ebay) but was personal, special and unique - we had our own message put on it.

Perhaps a personalised something may get over to her how special you feel she is without embarassing her by going overboard price-wise?

Ok smart ar$$$. She taught me 27 years ago. I sometimes bumped into her when I left school. She taught my son. She teaches my daughter now.

We're not friends for Gods sake, it's purely because of her profession.

I've known my Mum and Dad since I was born but I still ask for advice on what to buy for them
