Batter down cost of Vodafone monthly tariff
If you're looking for a new Vodafone monthly contract you may be able to batter them down on price. First, on Vodafone's web site find the package (tariff + handset) that you want. Then, go to the Dialaphone website. In most cases, these guys offer money back redemptions on Vodafone price plans, thus bringing down the total cost over the length of the contract.
I'm not too keen on redemptions as it usually involves sending off for a cheque by sending in your mobile phone statements to them, and if the company folds then you don't get the money back, and various other get-outs that they may be able to use to not pay you.
Once you've found out how much you could save with Dialaphone, call up Vodafone sales and ask them for the price of the package you want. Once they tell you the price, tell them that you would like to buy from them but Dialaphone have this great redemption offer.
Vodafone will try and tell you about the risks of redemption schemes. But tell them you're willing to take the risk although if Vodafone can match the savings then you'd rather buy from them.
The package I was looking at was going to offer me £180 worth of redemption with Dialaphone. The Vodafone rep who answered my call said he'd have to "speak with his manager" ... he was off the line for about ten seconds before he came back on and said he can't match the £180 saving but instead could manage about £150 (by way of lower line rental over the contract length).
I was happy with that as I hate these redemption schemes.
Got the package delivered free of charge to me next day, even though the order was placed after most suppliers' cut off times for free next day delivery.
This probably works for all the networks. Just try it, you have nothing to lose and much to gain.

I tried that and they would not budge, but they did allow me to have one of their web deals, which they said was for new customers only.0
