Paypal refund

First time I've had to do this, item ordered and paid for, 10 days later and not rec'd, difficult comms with seller, now not answering and closed account on Ebid. Put a chargeback on paypal and says waiting for seller input(or something like that) how long do you have to wait? Not expecting to win as they are likely to have cleared the account.but you've got to try. Not a large amount but its the principle.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

If this is ebid then the full paypal protection does not apply and there would need to be funds in the paypal account for you to recover anything. Paypal will give the seller 10 days (sometimes this slips to a bit longer) and then if seller can't prove delivery they will close the dispute in your favour. Then if there are funds available you get them, if not they tell you that you'll get them if they can be recovered later.
If you backed the paypal payment via a credit card then you can apply to them if paypal fails you.
I would also make a complaint to the ebid administrators in case seller reopens their account later.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If paypal fails you and you've still not got your money back or the item, claim here:

Thanks for the info, I don't think the C/C will go down to £15.00 and its not worth a moneyclaim I don't think. Will do the E-bid bit. I did think that paypal would not give as much cover as E-bay, I needed to know how long I should wait.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Why don't you think a moneyclaim is worthwhile?
That is exactly what the small claims process was set up for - small claims such as this (after all other attempts have failed).
Yes it'll cost £25 to file (plus more if the the matter needs to progress to court), but that'll be added to the amount claimed."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
