Shares ISA's

 Can I transfer already owned shares into a shares ISA or do I need to give them cash so they can buy the shares? I bought the shares through Barclays so I guess it would be easier to go with them if I can transfer the shares into a shares ISA, but when I phoned them they weren't sure?! I'm looking for another number to call them on, but advice would be helpful please.

Thanks

M

You can't. You have to invest your own cash. Although the same broker like HL or bank like Barclays might be able to sell your shares and open an ISA for you.
