Cheapest payg sim, worldwide UK calls ? (OK for 0871 access, free to receive, NOMI ?)
Wonder if someone can help - I've googled, and searched here without success.
I have an overseas friend visiting UK for 2 weeks, and she's asked my advice on a SIM for the duration - calling UK mobiles, plus plenty of international calls & SMS (worldwide, not EU).
1) Any ideas on what would work out to be the cheapest PAYG sim for this ? Does any network pride itself in being cheaper for overseas calls ?
2) I'm wondering if any networks offer the 0844/0871 cheap rate international 'access' numbers for a reasonable rate, or are all these 'loopholes' now closed ?
3) Will any network charge to receive calls from overseas, in this instance ?
4) I read about NOMI here on mse forums - certainly nice & cheap rates - but although topups are available on the highstreet, it appears the SIM can only be purchased online (OK if they deliver in 2 days, but no good after 10 !) - http://www.nomi-mobile.com/index.php (& cheaper on ebay). Would NOMI be a good solution here ?
Thanks

What about this one http://www.lebara-mobile.co.uk/en/
My daughter used it in Uk when she was over from Oz0 -
I think you'll find Lebara sims in ASDA. They're certainly in my local Asda.0

Try this as an alternative. I think the rates are very similar though.0 -

If you need it in a hurry, try an area with a large 'immigrant' population, ie Asian, African etc. You'll find that loads of shops will sell international sims.
I use Nomi myself, great for international calls, and the homecall service is good too.0
