Hello,
For anyone that knows could you tell us the rough estimated cost and best way of posting these items-
Woman's knee high boots
A light weighted dress that goes just past the knee
Trainers
We have sold all these items yesterday coming to nearly £300 so want to send them the safest way really. Sorry if it sounds a silly question but thought there must be someone on here that knows the score...

I sent some knee high boots in their box first class for £5.15 via Royal Mail. I'm sure the woman said it didn't qualify for recorded but there were other options available.0

Weigh each package together with the packaging and get an accurate weight. Then use this ready reckoner to get a price:
http://sg.royalmail.com/portal/rm/PriceFinder?catId=23500532&gear=pricingcalc&campaignid=pricefinder_redirect
Airmail, even those tracked services only cover up to £39 of loss so make sure you add extra for insurance, all the details and tarrifs are available on the RM site.
I am intrigued though how you sold them before knowing the postage costs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have sold cd's and dvd's on there before but never boots and stuff. I just estimated it by looking at others similar items. I put p+p down as £9 but always adjust it (refund) the difference.
The boots were £120 so should I/can I get them sent for recorded delivery or should I do them first class?0 -

Needs to be special delivery, First Class and recorded only cover you up to £39.0 -
special delivery unless you want to wave bye bye to your boots and dosh!
I'm interested to know the brands you've sold to make so much money. Even decent designer stuff doesn't tend to make those amounts.0 -
PM sent.
Right looks like-
Royal Mail Special Delivery™ Next Day
Guaranteed delivery next day and get up to £500 automatic compensation cover for loss or damage.
at £8.65
Is my best bet?0 -
I reckon they weigh over 2kg though so it looks like about £20 on p+p, looks like the buyer got let off lightly!0

You just need to weigh them and go onto the royal mail price finder , only way to be accurate. Easiest done before listing really save messing about with refunds. I would definately send the boots special if you've sold them for £120 , not worth the risk sending anything less.0

They actually went for £175 in the end, plus the £9 delivery, really suprising. Had alot of watchers and plenty of messages about the size. Because the buyer paid so much im going to make sure they get there on time and in perfect condition, so if it comes to £20+ so be it.
as for weighing them, we dont really have anything in the house to do the job so we will have to wait and see what they weigh in the post office, fingers crosses not too much but if trainers weigh 1k (according to the postage cost estimator) i reckon these boots weigh 3 times that or so0 -
Parcel force might be worth checking out. They require a signature on delivery too.0
