Item not recieved - how do i reply to my claim?

Basically I have not recieved an item which i bought on the 1st june. I realise it is quite early yet and I would be willing to wait another week or so. P&P cost 7 pound as the seller sent me a copy of the reciept via email. I have contacted them and asked what date they sent it and how. They replied saying they would be willing to send me a copy of the reciept for me to contact royal mail as they do not offer insurance.

I have read time and time again on here that it is the sellers responsibility to contact RM if an item goes missing. So I was just wondering as the seller does not offer insurance does who will need to contact RM if it does not arrive in the next week or so? The mirror cost 26 including P&P.

Thanks :o

It's the seller's responsibility to claim from Royal Mail. Whether they offer insurance or not doesn't make the slightest difference!!

You've waited long enough, so open up an "Item not received" dispute straight away.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I cant believe they even offered to contact RM on my behalf. I shall be opening a dispute in a moment. The seller offered send me the reciept through the post. Now I am a little worried incase they do send it and send it recorded and have that as there 'proof' or maybe i am being way to paranoid.

    Thanks again :o

It is totally irrelevant, unless they have a signature from you to say you have recieved it on a genuine tracking number then you will win a Paypal dispute.
Make sure you escalate it to a claim in the time limit to get your money back.

Good thought, but the seller only has 7 days to post something, so even if they have proof from later than that paypal won't accept it.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

Thank you all for your replies .. I'm quite paranoid with ebay sometimes. I have put in a dispute and escalated it to a claim. I have not even bothered replying to the message they sent me earlier .

    Thanks again :o

Apoligies for bumping but I am abit confused now. The seller has put a tracking number in on paypal so I went to the RM website to track & trace it.
    Status

The seller has responded to our request for tracking information. We haven't confirmed the tracking information yet but wanted to share it with you.
    • Tracking number: AA000100019GB
    • Delivery company: Royal Mail
Which is the example on the royal mail website!
Please enter your 13 character reference
    e.g. AA000100019GB

Is there anything i can do now? Thanks!

Personally I would let paypal know immediately that seller has entered a false tracking number , they should spot it but it never hurts to point things out to them.

Unless it shows as delivered, and a false tracking means that is not going to happen seller still loses. By trying to be clever like that seller has shown themselves to be dodgy.

Classic delaying tactics here, they may have just posted it or its an unused RD slip.

There must be a link to open up a dialogue box somewhere within the dispute page. Sorry cant be more specific as I have never had to file an INR dispute.
