As a seller who has refunded, can I claim my postage back?

Hello

We sold a Wii via ebay at the beginning on May. It was sold and duely sent to the buyer. I had an email a while later saying it hadn't arrived. I chased this via the PO and they said to ask the buyer to check his local Post/sorting office before waiting the 15 days to report as lost etc). I passed this info on and was told no, it hadn't arrived and so I refunded in full via PayPal.

On Friday I had a card through my door and, lo and behold, when I went to collect it, it was the Wii returned. A card had been put through the buyers door on the 12th May and he hadn't bothered to collect it, just started chasing me on the 18th.

Can I claim back the £10 postage from the buyer (via palPal?) as I kept my side of the sale, it was his fault he didn't collect it (the parcel was returned with stickers on saying what date the card had been left etc).

Thanks
My baby girl :kisses3: September 09 :heartsmil

Why don't you phone Paypal and see what they say? Give them the tracking number showing that a delivery was attempted.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

OH is supposed to be mailing them today to ask and sort it out - I just wondered if anyone knew the answer so we can be a bit prepared and not fobbed off.

    Thanks

And in the future, send things worth over £39 via Special Delivery or by courier with insurance. This way you are able to track the parcel to where it is plus if it gets lost you will get your money back.

    In short, no.
You really have no proof that any notes were left apart from Royal Mail's say so (parcel may have also been addressed incorrectly) and irrespective of that and however silly it sounds, its your responsibility to ensure the buyer receives the goods so the service you use is at your own risk.
Your best option would be to contact the buyer and let them know the situation, if they say they never received notes then you can try and claim money back from Royal Mail.
