Received Mortgage Offer Letter From Co-operative bank

Hi all,

I received my mortgage offer letter from the bank yesterday, which is great. I am a little confused though is the not meant to be something I have to sign and then send back or does this bit go to the solicitor.

Thank you:confused:

    whats it sayon the letter

if it says that the mortgage is approved etc then thats your proof that you show to the other side solicitors/estate agents that you have been granted the funds for the mortgage in question

Show the other side? Why? Your mortgage is not their business. You want to buy their house, you sign the contract, you pay the balance on completion. The other side doesn't need to know if the money is yours, your mum's, or a banks!
is the not meant to be something I have to sign and then send back or does this bit go to the solicitor.
Did you read it? Does it ask you to sign/return any part? If not, don't!

I'm not going with the co-op... but when I got my agreement from the Leeds BS, they sent the necessary to my solicitor so he could get going with it. Shouldn't worry.
  • I have recently had mine from natwest. I had two copies, one for me, one to sign and give to my solicitor who could then get on with things. All I had to do was show the other side (estate agents) was the AIP.
