Hi Guys,
A person who we had living with us as a last month flatmate has written things about us on her blog, and they are nasty :-(. Although she dosent mention are names she has used are pictures......is this illegal and can I take it further?
Look forward to your replies.
Many Thanks,
Bromarc

Yes, any photos of you cannot be published without your consent. How you go about getting them off I don't know. Can you contact the website host?0

I dont know how to but I will look into this, my girlfriend is so upset and failed one of her uni exams for this and I have had days off due to stress and today lost my job.....I want to take this to a legal process, would it be worth it?
Many Thanks

I'm not sure that's true - as far as I am aware, the person who takes the image owns it unless it is of a minor etc, otherwise nobody would ever be able to publish images of crown scenes etc.
Are the things she said factually incorrect, or just accounts of her opinions which are unpleasant? Do you know how many people actually read her blog - it may be that you are worrying about something only a handful of people will see, and those will all be her friends anyway, so would it matter what they thought of you?
To be honest, I'm not sure you can claim any redress for your girlfriend failing her exams or you taking time off work unless you can prove that what she has said will have damaging consequences for you with people who matter (e.g employers, colleagues etc). Is that the case?0 -

If you are thinking of defamation, then no, it would not be worth it. Your expenses would far outweigh any award.
What has she said that is so nasty?Gone ... or have I?0 -
That we lead sad lives, control freaks and being very personal, its not far to publish un true things like this.....how can I take her for damages on this?0

Oh and she calls us !!!!!!......0

Unfortunately, what one person sees as 'tidy' may well be what another sees as 'control freakery' so it would be very difficult to prove that what she has said are lies if they are all matters of opinion. If you could give some idea of who you think will be reading the blog, it would put your distress into context.0
