Postal Strike in Northern Ireland Knock On Effects

in N. Ireland

My wife has just been refused a credit card (first time ever!). The information from the Credit Reference Agencies was considered in the decision. One item they take into consideration is late payment on your credit card. (her payments have always been made on time!)This happened to my wife during our recent postal strike (and it has happened to numerous other people in Northern Ireland). Will people from Northern Ireland, who had late payments on their credit cards during this strike, be refused credit cards in future because of this strike and late payments?

Mint charged the wife a £20 late payment fee during the strike, but then removed it after a phone call without any problem. It did cost me £67 due to parcels i sold on ebay never being recieved (mind you one did find its way back to me on Saturday 6 weeks after posting)
