Travellers Cheques or Prepaid Card????

I'll set the scene first; I'm going away in 9 days time to Crete, I applied for a nationwide debit card but I got declined due to being a student and due to be being disorganised I've left it too late to get the cashcard as the card takes 3-4 weeks to be delivered. So having read the 'cheap travel money' page I think that leaves me with the option of either taking euros accompanied with travellers cheques, or possibly cash and a prepaid card. So basically what is the better option or is there any other options that I have missed which would be better.
Also my normal current account is with natwest so I won't be using my card unless for emergencies. Thanks

hiya,
Im going away in 3 weeks with my partner and we got a phone call yesterday from our travel agent regarding this option of the prepaid card. Ive seen them around before and we both considered it a good idea for kids and safe keeping any pocket money rather than carrying cash but never considered it for holiday money.
Basically to cut a long story short we both think the prepaid card is a brilliant idea and we are heading to our travel agents on Friday to pick ours up. Weve decided the best thing is to carry a few hundred euros cash and put the rest on the card for safe keeping to use for food and trips on the holiday and use the cash for small essentials or emergancies when we are out.
Travellers cheques are ok but I think the prepaid card is the safest way to go!Life is what you make it.0
