Best Hairbrush For Very Long Hair?

I'm looking for opinions on the best brand of hairbrush for long hair.
Any fellow long hair types care to share?

Thanks :)

N.B I don't mean shoulder length. I mean waist length.

Hi Lilibeth...my favourite brush ever is one by Aveda (which I use)...I find it is great on hair that tangles and can be used on wet hair without breaking or feeling like you are trying to scalp yourself! It is great, and you could find cheaper, but lasts for ages (I have had mine for a few years now, will never part from it and looks like new)...and it cleans very easily.

  • I totally agree, paddle brushes are best for long hair, there are cheaper ones (about £8) that are really good as well.
I had my kent one for at least 15 years (until ds1 stood on it) and now I have a tresemme and a denman
my hair is halfway down my back, curly and really thick and these brushes sail through without hurting or tearing it

I'm with The Rottweiler: I also have very, very thick naturally curly hair which is long (just had six inches trimmed off the ends and it's still long) and love my Kent and Denman brushes. I'd never even consider buying anything else now

I would say Denmam paddle brush too and if your hair gets knotty....try a "Tangle Teezer" They really do work wonders.
  • I just use a paddle brush from Primark, my hair is very fine though.
Present yourself, press your clothes, comb your hair, clock in

I'd agree with paddle brushes - but also the tangle teazer (I think its spelt like that!). Looks like a dog brush - but its the only one i've found that I can brush DD's hair with without tears!
