Prepaid Credit Card

Hi folks,
I'm after getting a Pre paid Credit card after my BR on Monday, as a way of saving for the big things like car repairs or maybe even the weekly shopping. I've seen one called 'Babee' card and wondered if anyone had got one and what they thought? It claims to give you discounts at shops I would use anyway (like Asda, Argos and Mothercare) so sounds like a good deal.
Thanks

I did a search for Prepaid cards and found a list of prepaid cards, comparing their monthly costs, atm costs etc and the Babee one came out quite good. Apparently there are now 66 prepaid cards available!!!!BR 08/06/09 ED 10/03/10BSC member 2500

I use the PayPal pre-paid card, it's so easy to top-up (from your PayPal account) and they have a cash-back scheme when you purchase things online. I used to have a SplashPlastic one but I found it a nightmare to top-up quickly.0

why not just get a yorkshire savings account its online and its free to use, unlike prepaid cards.0

Thanks, I may well get one of those as well but I wanted something which will allow me to pay large bills directly if needed. If I get to keep my Co-op savings account by some miracle post BR then I'll use that as I can instantly transfer money to my current account and spend it - its the speediness of access which is one of the things for me I think.BR 08/06/09 ED 10/03/10BSC member 2500 -

I only paid a fee at the start, I think it was £4.95... I don't get charged for any transactions or topping up, unless I do it through PayPoint. So actually with some of them there are no costs, just convenience.0 -

are you sure that there are no charges? is there not a per month or per transaction charge? never heard of a pre-paid card that was totaly free to use.0 -

Nope, I think the only time they'll charge is if I top-up in a shop or somewhere... it's a great card!
