Thankyou, & my experience

:hello:Hello everyone, I am a notorious worrier and when I decided to go bankrupt I felt overwhelmed by the whole thing and just broke down in tears:cry:. Out of worry I trawled the Internet looking for anything to ease my worry and take my blood pressure down, this is when I stumbled accross this forum. I have been silently reading various posts on here and looking up anything which worried me. It helped tremendously, not only did it make me realise I was not the only one out there going through this, but I felt more informed and had a better idea of what to expect:idea:. I suddenly had access to real people and their experiences and even though the whole thing was still scary, it was not so scary.
I feel I am now through the worst of it, and I really want to say a BIG THANKYOU to anyone and everyone who has took the time to post their experiences and advice:iloveyou:. I can think of no better way to repay the favour than by doing the same thing.

On the 28th May 2009 I went to court to have my bankruptcy petition heard. I was so nervous I looked white as a sheet _pale_ and felt sick. Once there the clerk went though my forms with me and was really nice and down to earth, then took my money. About half hour after arriving I went down to have the petition heard before the judge and 10 minutes later I was sent back to the clerk, the judge approved the petition without needing to see me - I was so relieved. After a bit more waiting the clerk invited me into a small room were I checked and was given my paperwork. Then he phoned the OR office and I gave my details to someone over the phone (I think this was a secretary simply logging me on the system). It was done, it only took just over an hour.
Then almost a week later I had a phone call from the OR arranging an appointment for a telephone interview which I have now had. Again I was nervous and felt sick (I don't handle stress well, lol, I'm sure many of you can relate), he rang and was really nice, we went through the SOA and determined that I have a low income, no assets and I have not used credit for several years (the debts are old) so I was not given an IPA and would not lose anything, he was not even interested in my outgoings, the interview was more of a formality and only lasted about 20 minutes. I just have to wait for some stuff through the post to fill in and send it back. I feel much better now and like I say, I think the worst is done :T.

Thank you for posting that, I am where you started, my debts are not so old, we have been supplementing our income with credit, and it has caught up with us, but it is terrifying, isn't it? Still, providing a future for my son is my new focus and goal, and it's what keeps me strong.
Well done for getting through it.
