Accident on the street

Hi everyone

I had an accident on the street (pavement) due to some Morrisons plastic barriers & now have a ripped calf muscle. Anyone have any experience of these "no win no fee" solicitors & if so, who is the best?

As a self employed married guy with no children, anyone help on what benefits I'm entitled to from the DSS/DWP?

Thanks in advance :money:

    Harsh, but fair!

OP, does your wife work fulltime? If so, and assuming you have only paid self employed NI Conts, you are unlikely to be entitled to ESA. We really need more details to give further information.

With regard to solicitors, are you sure an optician would not be a better idea?
    Gone ... or have I?

Who said I walked into anything...?

Before being sarcastic, I suggest you find out more.

Certainly not harsh but fair. I was simply asking a question & if nobody has anything positive to say, then don't say anything at all.

Thanks for almost giving me an answer, but then following it up by being sarcastic...? I don't understand. Neither of the the people who responded to me know anything about the situation or the mechanics of how it happened, but both ended up being sarcy.

I have used a no win no fee lawyer before - I found mine via the RAC when I was involved in a car accident (not my fault) the solicitor managed to get me £8500 (I was given £1000 as an interim payment), I kept that money and he claimed his fee which came to £3500.

There is a company that advertise on the tv - I think they are called Claims Direct which is run by a law firm called Russell Jones & Walker (I happen to know that this firm has one of the top disability lawyers working for them).

Contact the law society to find out some names of no win no fee lawyers to help you make a claim.

As much as i hate to defend Linus , perhaps you should provide "more" so people can give you a more informative answer to your question. Gotta be carefull on here , nasty wolves about on MSE.

Thanks for the advice on this forum, but I didn't feel it necessary to elaborate on my own incident. My question was asking if anyone had any dealings with any companies & what "traps" or hidden fees there were in any small print. I wasn't asking for a forum judgement on my incident.

do you mean BARRIERS or CARRIERS ie bags which you slipped on?

who would be at fault here? Council? Morrisons? you have to decide who/what caused the accident and who would be resposible you see.

Thanks Valli, but I didn't slip on anything.

It was definitely Morrisons, Valli. Maybe I should state it was Morrisons the road diggers (they are all over London, not sure about the rest of the country).

    Thanks again.
